Alice Jones Bed & Breakfast

About Us/History

Ribbon Cutting, Trustee Phil Schmidt, Susan, Dr. Fonagy, Fire Chief Keith BarrettAlice Jones and Ben McMullin were married in August, 1908.  In April 1919, Ben and Alice bought this home from Charles and Mary Wendler.  Ben and Alice raised their five children in this home, and eventually their daughter Edna and her husband Les Jamieson, took over the home.  Alice continued to have her living quarters upstairs.  Alice Jones McMullin remained in this home until her passing in 1980.  In the spring of 2008, Dr. Joseph Fonagy, the local hometown dentist, and his wife Susan, had a vision for this home, when it came up for sale.  They had a vision that would keep the heritage and spirit of the McMullin family alive, by inviting guests to share in the history and provide a unique setting for comfortable overnight accommodations, for all those who would visit the Brookfield and surrounding area.
